It was so great to meet you guys at the Neiman Marcus Fall Trend event this weekend! I mentioned it on my Snapchat already, but truly one of my favorite perks of blogging is meeting you guys so thanks so much for coming out! Can’t wait for my next visit to another city to see more of you!
Fall is almost here and I couldn’t be more excited to pack away my shorts and layer on those sweaters. I wanted to share some of my favorite trends coming up this season for fall:
1.) Seeing Red: One of the big colors for fall is shades of red. Whether it’s wine, oxblood, burgundy, marsala, I am all over it from head to toe. I love the shade of this dress so much I’m making it do double duty this season and wearing it as a top too. :P Can’t wait to wear this color from head (love this hat) to toe (great fringe detail on this heel) this upcoming season. Also lovethis bag!
2.) Saddle Up: The cross-body saddle bag is the ‘it’ bag this fall and I’m not complaining. I love the structured look of it and got it in grey so I can wear it with anything (everything).
3.) White Out: Another trend I’m really excited about is monochromatic white. I love wearing white on white during the summer so I’m really excited it’s been incorporated into fall. This is the jacket I posted on my snapchat you all asked about. I am OBSESSED! I just ordered it. And how amazing is this coat? White jackets just kill me. They are so beautiful!
What are some of your favorite styles that are going strong this fall?

THE ADVICE I WISH I HAD IN MY 20S

Hindsight is 20/20. We’ve all made mistakes but we live and learn – and hopefully share! As I’m gearing up to hit the big 3-0, I wanted to share some of the things I’ve learned over the last few years.
It doesn’t matter what you major in. Hard work and ambition can get you the world. Without that work ethic, a degree in any field is just something on your resume. Hard work and dedication to your passions is really what gets you places.
Take care of your skin! A tan lasts for moments but your skin is with you forever. Use SPF especially on your face and opt for healthier options like sunless tanning (I love this sunless face lotion I have been using for years). Also start your skin care regimen in your early 20’s before you have wrinkles. I wish I would have started earlier. This is a great day serum for wrinkles.
Hair ages too. Between being on a budget with your hair styling tools and experimenting with hair colors, your hair will go through the ringer in your 20’s. Start taking care of your hair now. One of the easiest and more important ways is with a heat protectant. I love the Nexxus Newy York Salon Care Heat Protecting Mist enriched with flax seed oil and antioxidants to protect your hair from heat damage like dryness and breakage. The Nexxus New York Salon Care Encapsulate Serum is another one of my favorite products for repairing my hair with pure elastin protein and other nutrients. I use this daily to restore my hair fiber back to its pre-damaged state.
Less is more. Whether it’s makeup, perfume, or accessories, less is always more. Obviously we have the days it’s fun to get glammed up but overall simplify. I remember I used to pile on bracelets, necklaces, earrings, etc., but I feel like the older I get one statement piece or a couple delicate pieces do the trick.
Family is everything. When you are young you think you would rather hang out with friends, but as you grow up you realize family are the people who usually always stay by your side. Start young and don’t miss out on those opportunities. Spend time with your grandparents! One of my favorite memories with my grandma was a few years ago I went to visit her and she went through all her old photo albums and told me about her childhood and growing up. Learned so much! Even just taking the time to call them makes their day!
Floss. Your dentist knows what’s up.
Set goals! Ambition without goals doesn’t get you anywhere so set both short and long term goals for yourself. And don’t forget to include a timeline to hold yourself accountable.
Try new things.  Wether its a trend you are nervous to try and think you can’t pull off or an adventure you think is extreme don’t let your second guessing hold you back, be adventurous and try new things.
Choose your friends wisely. One of my favorite quotes is “You will only be as good as the people you surround yourself with.” Surround yourself with good people who reciprocate your friendship. Nobody likes a one-sided friendship.
Keep a journal. It took me until I had kids to realize how important writing in a journal is. There are so many details that will fade over time so just take a moment now to jot them down and you will get to keep them forever. Even if it’s just once a month, start writing down your favorite moments.
Start saving! You’ll never remember half of your purchases or those meals you splurge on, so start saving now to be able to one day afford those pieces that you will remember. I gave up a lot of my budget buys to invest in quality pieces and it has transformed by wardrobe. I will still never forget the feeling of buying my first designer purse or Louboutins!
Be good to others. Whether you can give through time or money, just give to others. None of us can make it alone, so lift others wherever you stand. Always make it a priority to give back!

As a mom and/or a career woman, time to relax and set aside time for ourselves can be hard to come by. As life gets more complicated, it seems like even putting together a girls’ night can two weeks of planning and coordinating everyone’s schedules in advance. So whether we’re having a movie night, shopping, or indulging our sweet tooth with some fondue and wine, it’s always worth it.
This Chateau Ste. Michelle Chardonnay was the perfect addition to our girls’ night in. It’s a rich, full-bodied wine and the flavor had a beautiful finish. A glass of wine always turns an ordinary night into a special occasion. Plus it was a great chance to unwined (haha like my pun ;) with some friends.
Any reason to celebrate with a toast is a good one in my book so I love Chateau Ste. Michelle’s #AToastTo competition. Share your own toast to some of your favorite things all summer long on Twitter and Instagram with hashtags @AToastTo and #ToastContest. This week’s theme is a toast to dessert for a chance to win a basket full of sweets or a trip to Chateau Ste. Michelle’s Summer Concert Series in Washington.

Cody and I didn’t get a real date night (like alone just us) until about a year after B was been born. Now that we found a good babysitter we try to make it a weekly or every other week event. Sometimes time slips away but it’s really something I look forward to with him!
We have our usual date nights like dinner, or a movie and then we have a list of extreme date nights for special occasions. A private helicopter ride had been on our list so we got dressed up, enjoyed a bottle of my favorite wine, and made it a night! A crazy storm rolled in like an hour before and I thought we were for sure going to have to cancel but it actually worked in our favor. We delayed taking off until it passed, leaving a beautiful sunset! We flew over the Great Salt Lake, Antelope Mountain, and finished over downtown Salt Lake by the Capital and Temple Square. It was by far one of the funnest things we’ve done!
When we decided we wanted to do a helicopter ride I immediately knew I wanted to bring a bottle of riesling, one of my personal favorites, to toast the occasion and knew it would be a perfect excuse for a toast for the Chateau Ste. Michelle’s #AToastTo competition. So here’s a toast to adventure, love, and cheers from above.
This week’s theme is a toast to wine (too easy!) so make your toast to wine with their cute toast generator and share it on Twitter and Instagram using hashtags #ToastContest and #AToastTo for a chance to win a couple prizes including a trip to Chateau Ste. Michelle’s Summer Concert Series.

THE 4 WORKOUT PIECES EVERY WOMAN SHOULD OWN

DETAILS: NEON PULLOVER | BLUE CROPPED LEGGINGS| SPORTS BRA | ILY TANK TOP | SNEAKERS |SUNGLASSES
We all love staying active for different reasons, but I’ve recently found myself living in work out clothes even on the days I’m not hitting the gym. I wore these pants three out of the seven days last week and my husband was teasing me the fourth day when I didn’t have them on. “Where’s your favorite pants??” he asked lol. Below are four work out staples every woman should own, the basics for a comfortable gym look or a day running around.
1. Colorful sports bra: Even if color isn’t your thing, a bright sports bra is a perfect way to add a little bit of contrast to your typical workout look. These pastel options are perfect for spring.
2. Lightweight layers: Pick pieces that are easy to transition temperatures. I’m always cold when I first get to the gym and like to have a lightweight jacket or long sleeve that’s easy to take off. Love the back of this stye for less intensive workouts.
3. Cropped leggings: I love cropped leggings because they really work in every season.  I always find myself throwing them on to run errands too. This brand is so comfortable I just ordered this style too.
4. Sneakers: A good sneaker is just as much about safety as it is about style. Don’t forget to switch out your old running shoes every 6 months or approximately 500 miles to avoid injury. I love these printsand you can see more of my favorites from this post here.

I got these jeans and jacket a couple weeks ago and I have worn them so much! The jeans are so distressed I love them! And olive green is one of my favorite colors for fall so I loved the boyish feel of this cargo jacket (on sale).
I always looked forward to back to school shopping as a kid. It was the highlight of my summer (backwards, I know!). Now that I’m an adult the fun part is feeding off the kid’s excitement so I always try to make it as fun for them as it was for me once upon a time. The key is to let them have some say in the matter. It’s fun watching Mara and Wes explore their own taste, from sweats to dresses.
Since Nike is one of the kids’ favorite brands (and ours too :) we always end up with a few Nike pieces in our back to school clothes haul.  Macy’s is our go-to spot for Nike gear for the kids since they always have great deals.
I love Nike sets for Wes – they are priced like a single piece but he gets double the wear out of each piece by wearing them as separates. And don’t let Mara’s lace dress fool you. :P Mara can hold her own with the guys and loves Nike as much as her brother does. Mara and Wes each have a pair of Nike slides and wear them constantly. Mara loves the pink detailing on her pair (on sale).

I can’t handle how old Wes is getting! His cuteness kills me! He has his first day of Kindergarten next week! Him and Mara are the same height so everyone thinks they are twins :)

Mara is such a good little nurturer. She loves carrying B, getting his bottle, buckling his car seat. She always wants to help and take care of him. I’m so thankful for what a good sister she is!

BECKAM: BURGUNDY SWEATER | SHOES
The kids love going to the library! We picked out their back packs (boys version) for school a couple weeks ago (obsessed with these they are on sale- under $25, and have option for personalization on them so the kids got to pick out how they wanted their name written and what animal or shape they wanted on it) and when they came in the mail they were beyond anxious to use them! Since school doesn’t start for a few more days we decided to make it a library day so they could use their backpacks for library books. In full honesty I swear I get a late fee every time we go to the library because I always forget to return them! Grrrr but I love seeing how excited the kids get to pick out new books. Mara started reading mini chapter books so she is always picking big books she can read to her brothers. B on the other hand was a hot mess in the library! He didn’t get the whole “quiet” part. He’s really into chase and hide and seek right now so he thought the endless aisles of books made the best maze! He would run down the aisles laughing and screaming as I would frantically chase him trying to get him to be quiet. Some days he is the most well behaved and other days no matter how many times I tell him no or try to discipline he just doesn’t listen.
Besides the back packs we got a few more things at Lands’ End for back to school. The kids shoes we picked out are so cute! Wes got these sneakers. They are white which typically is rough with boys but they are leather so I know they won’t get dirty as fast, they look so cute with shorts too! (Don’t forget to spray your shoes with a protectant it makes a huge difference on how dirty they get) Mara got these burgundy booties and I was wishing they had them in my size ;) They look so cute on her and burgundy actually mixes and matches with a lot of things so don’t be afraid to step outside your neutral color wheel with these. They are super versatile!
I couldn’t help myself and picked out a couple things for myself too. These burgundy sneakers are the ones I wore on snapchat you all were asking about. I love the color! (can you tell pretty much all the kids have a shade of it on :) I also got this cable knit sweater. Chunky knit sweaters are the best for fall!
I’ll be hosting an event with Neiman Marcus this weekend in Denver at the Cherry Creek Mall from 1-4pm! I would love to hang out and shop with you guys! Hope you can make it!
